INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION: an always-learning exercise

Every person has different mannerisms or expressions that makes the daily communication with other people something unique and very special to every case. Even when it is a conversation with someone your age who speak your same language and is from the same local area. If it is so, imagine how would it be to talk to someone who doesn’t share these basic cultural things with you.

To me, it was confusing at the very beginning of my relationship with a friend of mine who is from Argentina. We keep in touch weekly when the weekend arrives but text each other a lot during vacation. Talking to her generally means to me using expressions that I don’t use regularly but I end up saying them unconsciously.

I am always learning new stuff about her culture while trying to teach her some of mine.
