People tend to associate the peruvian culture with lots of llamas, costumes, indigenous people and rural areas. While most of these things are a significant part of their culture, the truth is that Peru is a more diverse and complex country with a large fan of different life-styles.
The average peruvian through the foreigner eyes is a short individual with long straight hair, dark skin, a wide circular face shape and facial features like an «Indio» as a general idea.
In fact, this is the basic idea the «peruvian image» is based on. Perhaps it is the first thing that comes to your mind when someone talk about Peru as a country: a bunch of montains, sanctuaries, small tribes and a laid-back way of life. Some people actually think about the urban centres and the younger generations, but there is not many of them.
It is important to defeat the most common stereotypes in order to appreciate better this culture, and that is my purpose here.
